SOE CEO John Smedley tweeted that there will be a big annoucement about PlanetSide 2 at the upcoming Fan Faire in Las Vegas.
This was later confirmed on the official forums, so stay tuned for more info soon! It was also confirmed that the official title of PlanetSide's sequel is now "PlanetSide 2". "PlanetSide Next" was the codename of the project prior to the annoucement.

Layoffs and studio shutdowns at SOE |

SOE is closing their studios in Denver, Seattle and Tucson, as well as laying off 205 of it's employees.
The remaining employees will be moved to the SOE headquarter in San Diego to work on PlanetSide: Next and an upcoming Everquest game.
